DETAILS FOR INSTALLATIONS USING THE UNDERGROUND FROG SYSTEM
At Oak Leaf Gates we specialise in the manufacture and installation of the highest quality oak gates and oak gate posts combined with automation and access control.
For clients requiring new brick piers to be constructed, this will need to be organised by the client with a locally sourced builder. Due to the weight of our gates we do like to have an element of involvement within your piers construction.
As part of our commitment to your project we can if requested supply you with some pier detail drawings ( similar to those available on the link below ) which will help your builder to understand the method of construction that we advise. As part of this we will supply specific measurements for the width of the structural opening required between the piers for your new gates along with the height of the steel required within the pier will need to reach above ground level.
We strongly advise all clients to have the pier details and site looked at by an architect or structural engineer to ensure that foundations are correctly sized and strong enough to support the gates taking into the ground conditions at the site along with any other factors deemed appropriate.
Once your builder has the foundation complete with the steel section and the brick or pier material has broken finished ground level by roughly two courses. We will arrange to come in and do your first fix at the entrance. This will include checking the necessary measurements, the fitment of FROG motor cases and top hinge pins for the gates and to run wires and any necessary equipment depending on the specification of the access control ordered.
Once we have completed our first fix your builder will be able to finish the piers and finish the entrance to its required specification.
Once your gates and hinges have been made we will arrange with the client to come and hang them and commission the system to make it operational.
