A country house commission

A COUNTRY HOUSE COMMISSION

Working on behalf of the client who were renovating a large private residence in a beautiful part of the country.  We were commissioned to design and install a pair of entrance gates, together with a pedestrian door.  The brief was to reproduce the original gates along side working with the stone masons to incorporate the gate wiring and access control within the original walls that were being rebuilt.

The new finished front entrance.  The oak has been left without a finish to weather naturally while all the ironmongery has been designed and made by us in 316 stainless steel.

The new entrance seen from within the grounds of the property

The exterior surface of this gate is covered with 316 stainless steel studs.  Each one was machined by hand and provide this traditional entrance a subtle contemporary twist.

For the pedestrian gate we designed new ironmongery in 316 stainless steel based off the original latch present.

The bottom rail of the Monnington gates was profiled to allow for the rising drive

This oak enclosure was designed to hide away the control equipment for the gate automation together with the existing gas meter for the property.
